Bijinbayashi 美人林

Bijinbayashi is a beech grove located in Matsunoyama in Tokamachi-city. The beech trees are so beautiful that the grove was named “Bijin” (beauty) “bayashi” (grove). Bijinbayashi has been selected as one of the best 100 forests in Niigata to walk in for therapeutic purposes.

I visited there last week for the first time in a while. Although it was a rainy day, the beech grove was just as beautiful as ever. Actually, it seemed a little more beautiful and fresh because of the rain. Regardless of the season or weather, Bijinbayashi is always a calm and peaceful place to restore your spirit.
